Why Helllloooo, Penguin here =D
Last Sunday, Gummi and Penguin trekked to the Hyde Park Barracks Cafe, which is a 5 minute walk from St James Station for some delicious brunch as part of the Crave Sydney Food Festival. I must admit, that this is the THIRD time I have been to this brunch, and it has been joy to my taste buds everytime!
So, to start the three-course brunch off, we have a light and refreshing granola. The granola was so tasty and slightly sweet!
Home-made granola, natural yoghurt and poached fruit
Next up, was Eggs 3-Ways, which is the star of the brunch. Gummi and I both love eggs and to have three spin-offs of eggs for brunch, this made us ecstatic and in pure-bliss, heaven. Personally, I loved the baked eggs and eggs benedict with ham best. The frittata, I thought was a tad too sweet for my liking.
Capsicum, caramelised onion and feta frittata
Ham eggs benedict
Egg, chorizo and roast tomato tart
Now, if that hasn't left you salivating then, I can assure you that this next finishing dish will. The dessert was fantastic and comes as a close runner-up to Max Brenner's Belgian Waffles, except these were chocolate...
Belgian chocolate waffles, cherry compote, coconut gelato
Make sure you check this fantastic and bang for your buck brunch out, it's only here for the month of October! For only $25 and served with a delicious 3-course brunch, you will want to go back once more!
Location: Hyde Park Barracks Cafe - Queens Square, Cnr Macquarie Street and St James Road, Sydney, NSW 2000
